Ron Paul On the Bill to Impose Sanctions on Iran: CONTACT YOUR SENATORS AND TELL THEM TO VOTE AGAINST SANCTIONS ON IRAN = This is a link to 2 clips. First is Paul's adress in front of the House on 12-15-09 where the Congressman rails against the reckless sanctions placed against Iran. The bill, H.R.2194, passed overwhelmingly. The second clip was from an interview posted on campaignforliberty.com BOL Archive = Iran
Global Cooling in 2009: Global Research | "2009 was another year of global cooling, which saw numerous low temperature and high snowfall records smashed. The Dutch canals for the first time in 12 years, record cold came to Al Gore's home town and ironically a blizzard dumped snow on the Copenhagen convention where world leaders met to try and stop global warming. It was so cold that even the BBC was forced to ask, what happened to global warming? As Climategate would reveal, IPCC scientists had been hard at work hiding evidence of global cooling. Yet the observational evidence cannot be ignored." BOL Archive = Global Warming

Obama and Afghanistan: America's Drug Corrupted War: Global Research | "The presidential electoral campaign of Barack Obama in 2008, it was thought, “changed the political debate in a party and a country that desperately needed to take a new direction.”[1] Like most preceding presidential winners dating back at least to John F. Kennedy, what moved voters of all descriptions to back Obama was the hope he offered of significant change. Yet within a year Obama has taken decisive steps, not just to continue America’s engagement in Bush’s Afghan War, but significantly to enlarge it into Pakistan. If this was change of a sort, it was a change that few voters desired." BOL Archive = America at War and Fake Drug War
The Doha Debates - Iran's Nuclear Program: 50 Min. video of a very good debate with good panelists and an excellent moderator. Hosted by Tim Sebastien - takes on Iran's nuclear program and asks if its is peaceful. BOL Archive = Iran
The Underwear Bomber: Crushing Freedom with Phony Arab Terrorism: Global Research | "After 9/11 however, every commercial airplane became a potential flying bomb and passengers and their hand luggage had to undergo more extensive searches. In Dec 2001, the theatrics of the clearly brain-washed Richard Reid, aka "the shoe bomber", added the common or garden shoe to the list of potential terrorist weapons. Now, the equally bizarre antics of the young Nigerian Mr Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab has thrown our underwear into the mix." BOL Archive = Our Rights/Loss of Rights
Afghan Attacker was CIA Informant: CBS NEWS | The suicide bomber who killed at least six Central Intelligence Agency officers in a base along the Afghan-Pakistan border on Wednesday was a regular CIA informant who had visited the same base multiple times in the past, according to someone close to the base's security director. Americans Want to be Slaves: Infowars.com | "What is most troubling about the whole event is the seeming willingness of Americans to accept the official story without questioning and to submit themselves to any measure deemed necessary by our “benevolent” government. Now that President Obama is in power, the civil liberties fire that once was burning bright among some on the left has now smoldered, leaving few to oppose the new liberal/Neo-con fascism." Underwear Bomber False Flag to be Exploited to Renew Patriot Act: Infowars.com |Wayne Madson gives a good interview embedded in this article that starts out "Prior to the underwear bomber incident on Christmas, the House of Representatives tabled legislation to “reform” the Constitution nullifying Patriot Act. On December 16, nine days before the patsy Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was delivered to the airport in Amsterdam by his handler, Congress decided to shuffle the law off into the New Year." Yemen Dismisses As Qaeda Threat as Exaggerated: LA Times | This may just be rhetoric on the part of the Yemen government. I post this article for its insight into the political an economic situation in Yemen (the last half of the article) Not Archived on BOL
Full-Body Scanners to Fry Travelers With Radiation: Noworldsystem.com | "A path has been cleared for the government to publicly roll out dangerous full-body scanners after the failed terrorist attempt on flight 253. Neocons are quaking for the government to implement the human x-ray machines on a nationwide scale, radiating travelers with unhealthy amounts of ionic radiation all for the sake of preventing the next Mutallab from boarding another U.S. airliner." Tea Party Activists Bitter About GOP 'Hijacking' Movement: Raw Story | Movements, names and political labels are routinely hijacked and/or made to mean something they were not founded to mean. The Tea Party (started by Ron Paul activists) is the latest in this trend, or more appropriately said, fact of life. We have seen this so many times in the past. The libertarian movement is another casualty of this. Even the notion of what a Democrat and Republican is changes generationaly. Time and time again, over and over a cause, a movement, a name, something that means something is taken over and then is transformed to mean something different. We Are Change, a loose association of organizations, all under the same name, each chapter under different leadership still remains true to its foundlings and initial principals; it has yet to be co-opted... hopefuly it never will, but it is ripe for a picking, then everyone who is associated with such a group gets labeled under a new brand and anything good an organization has done in the past before it 'hijacking' is then seen in a different light; this is true with the tea party movement. Brothers of Liberty is in its infancy and has yet to be steered astray by factions looking to co-opt it or expand their numbers, hopefully it never will, if it does I guess its a feather in our cap for creating something powerful that is so effective at committing change and spawning mobilization that another group is so anxious it take it over. The Tea party movement had a great name and a large following. The GOP saw it as a way to consolidate these people and bring them into their party. For all of the folks that are not on board with this co-option, then stop going to the rallies think up a different name and lets get together and go to that newly named rally. Not Archived at BOL
European Parliament to Investigate WHO and “Pandemic” Scandal: Globalization | "The Council of Europe member states will launch an inquiry in January 2010 on the influence of the pharmaceutical companies on the global swine flu campaign, focusing especially on extent of the pharma‘s industry’s influence on WHO. The Health Committee of the EU Parliament has unanimously passed a resolution calling for the inquiry. The step is a long-overdue move to public transparency of a “Golden Triangle” of drug corruption between WHO, the pharma industry and academic scientists that has permanently damaged the lives of millions and even caused death." CIA Torture Prison Found: CBS News | The practice of torture and rendition (the act of sending people captured by the US to other countries for torture) by the US government have been going on at least since the Regan days, almost 30 years ago, but Obama pledged to end torture. The President did set into motion, plans to close Guantanimo Bay, but the practice of rendition and the existence of this newly discovered CIA torture prison as well as the Baghram detention center still exist. Brothers of Liberty has to believe that the CIA is a secretive organization... so how many other torture sites exist that have not been discovered by the media? Our bet is more than 1. The larger picture is that torture continues by the hands of the United States, despite the promise of President Barak Obama to end such torture; this just makes the closing of GitMo a front piece of the administration, allowing it to declare its achievement of ending U.S. sponcered torture... Unfortunately this is far from the truth. BOL Archive = Obama
FDA Approved H1N1 Vaccines Containing Ingredients Known to Cause Cancer and Death: Vacutruth | Most health experts will agree that vaccine reactions can occur. It is estimated that roughly 1 in every million people will react to their vaccine. Even then, health officials maintain that it is usually a simple case of inflammation at the injection site and/or a slight fever. On a rare occasion, anaphylactic shock may occur due to the patient reacting to a substance that they are allergic to. However, the FDA recently approved four H1N1 vaccines that not only contain very questionable ingredients, but some of those ingredients have even been proven to cause cancer and death. New Tax for Protecting Opium Field, Bribing Taliban?: "Warning that the cost of occupying Afghanistan is a threat to the Democrats’ plan to overhaul health care, lawmakers have announced their plan to make Americans pay an additional war tax that will be taken directly from their income, never mind the fact that around 36 per cent of federal taxes already go to paying for national defense." Dangers of Tasers: The Tennessean | Since 2001, about 400 people have died — 39 this year — after being Tasered by law enforcement personnel in the U.S. Amnesty International believes it is time to reconsider the use of Tasers. We believe this is even more essential as Taser International has issued new recommendations calling on law enforcement to avoid shocking people in the chest. This is the first time Taser has admitted a potentially serious health risk with the devices, and we believe it underscores our call for a full evaluation of their use. BOL Archive = Police State
Number of US Trops In Afghanistan Overlooks Thousands of Support Troops: 10-12-09 Washington Post | President Obama announced in March that he would be sending 21,000 additional troops to Afghanistan. But in an unannounced move, the White House has also authorized -- and the Pentagon is deploying -- at least 13,000 troops beyond that number, according to defense officials. Climate sceptics claim leaked emails are evidence of collusion among scientists: The Guardian | Climate change sceptics who have studied the emails allege they provide "smoking gun" evidence that some of the climatologists colluded in manipulating data to support the widely held view that climate change is real, and is being largely caused by the actions of mankind. Asprin Kills 400% More People than H1N1 Swine Flu: The CDC now reports that nearly 4,000 Americans have been killed by H1N1 swine flu. This number is supposed to sound big and scary, motivating millions of people to go out and pay good money to be injected with untested, unproven H1N1 vaccines. But let's put the number in perspective: Did you know that more than four times as many people are killed each year by common NSAID painkillers like aspirin? BOL Archive = Vaccines
Afghans Say President Karzi's Five Year Handover is Not Soon Enough: London Times | Numerous and troubling quotes from the Afghan people on how they hate the Americans... this article seems to show that we are not winning the hearts and minds of teh Afghan people, but is it the general Afghan concensus or is it only quotes from a select few... none the less this is a troubling article. Is FCC Declairing Open Season On the Internet?: The FCC, in proposing to change the definition of an “open Internet” from competition-driven to government-driven is setting a very dangerous precedent; that it is acceptable for countries to preemptively regulate the Internet for what might happen in the future, even if they lack the legitimacy of constitutional or legal authority to do so, or even if there is thinnest of justification or evidence to support it. Ukraine, WHO and Geopolitics of Swine Flu Vaccine: According to F. William Engdahl "Latest reports of what is being called a deadly Swine Flu outbreak in Ukraine according to on sight reports appear to be a political concoction by a threatened government to avoid election defeat and possibly declare martial law. The details indicate how convenient the current WHO “Swine Flu” H1N1 “pandemic” scare is for regimes in trouble." BOL Archive =Current Events.

President Obama Reaffirms Power of Indefinite Detention, Will Not Seek Additional Congressional Powers: Chris Anders, senior legislative counsel for the American Civil Liberties Union, told ABC News “The Obama administration has continued to polices of the Bush administration of holding people at Guantanamo, Bagram, and elsewhere, and not trying them,” Anders said. “They should not be exercising that authority.”
A Disgusting Display by the Pittsburgh Police: Video of police firing tear gas and what looks like rubber bullets at peaceful Pittsburgh college students outside of their dorms. The actions by the Pittsburgh police are despicable, they should be ashamed and the Chief of police should be charged with crimes. BOL believes that there is a place for police in crowd control. Police are meant to protect the public at large. If a gathering, protest or riot are threatening the lives or property of others the police have a right to disperse the rioters for the sake of public safety. In these videos and time and time again police have been deployed like armored storm troopers to attack people (and kids in this case) who were merely gathered in a large crowd. I am sure that this gathering of large crowds are nightly occurrences on the campus of Pittsburgh University. The Pittsburgh police's actions are deplorable. There was no indication on any of these videos that the students at the university were in anyway violent nor did it appear that they were engaged in the large scale destruction of property or people.

A video interview with Marc Faber: - Speaks on Economy: Mr. Faber is a forecaster an economist. He is known for his accuracy as a forecaster and revered by BOL for his sage knowledge as an economist. In this interview he gives great facts and predicts that the US WILL FAIL and go "Bust" IN 5-10 YEARS, he also says that Bernanke will continue to "print money like never before," that the US share of global GDP will decease as the former developing world (China, and India) will gain great percentages of world GDP and this will lead to a huge transfer of economic power in the world leading to geo-political tensions.
Obama Administration Will Bypass Congress to Hold Detainees Indefinitely: "The administration will continue to hold the detainees without bringing them to trial based on the power it says it has under the Congressional resolution passed after the attacks of Sept. 11, 2001, authorizing the president to use force against forces of Al Qaeda and the Taliban," the Times' Peter Baker writes. "In concluding that it does not need specific permission from Congress to hold detainees without charges, the Obama administration is adopting one of the arguments advanced by the Bush administration in years of debates about detention policies."
Obama Plans Internet Grab: FCC To Embrace 'Net Neutrality': The libertarian CATO Institute, in a 2004 policy analysis concluded: "The regulatory regime envisioned by Net Neutrality mandates would also open the door to a great deal of potential 'gaming' of the regulatory system and allow firms to use the regulatory system to hobble competitors. Worse yet, it would encourage more FCC regulation of the Internet and broadband markets in general."
Obama Pushes For Warranties Spying On Americans: From Prisonplanet.com = An Excerpt - "President Barack Obama has once again betrayed his promise to restore liberties eviscerated by the Bush regime by pushing Congress to renew Patriot Act provisions that allow for warrantless spying on American citizens, even in cases where there is no link to terrorism whatsoever."
Bernanke Says Recession Over; Should You Care?: To quote the article "Based on his track record as a forecaster and his acumen in identifying economic problems before they exploded, his views on starts and finishes of recessions are, to be blunt, irrelevant. Recall it was Mr. Bernanke who described the sub-prime situation as “Contained;” it was he who believed Housing would not spill over to the broader economy; and it was he who somehow thought the Bear Stearns situation was a one-off.
US To Spend $75 Billion on Intelligence this Year: Up from $47 Billion last year... now this is a huge increase. BOL however knows that the intelligence agencies of The United States (any all other 1st world) countries regularly lie about spending, allowing many projects to remain secret. So we are not sure if this increase is just more disclosure or if it marks a vast increase in intelligence. We feel its just interesting information.
White House Collects Web Users' Data Without Notice: From the Washington Times: An excerpt - "The White House is collecting and storing comments and videos placed on its social-networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube without notifying or asking the consent of the site users, a failure that appears to run counter to President Obama's promise of a transparent government and his pledge to protect privacy on the Internet."
Ice Cream and Burgers Can Cause You to Over Eat: Reuters reports on a study by UT Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas which claims that fat from things like burgers and ice cream heads to the brain and suppresses appetite
Cindy Sheehan on Obama and Afghanistan: From her website - BOL likes the end where she points our that Obama's policies toward the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan are the same. Sheehan was a huge opponent of Bush and it is good to see her oppose the some policies she spoke out against. She seems to be outside of the false left / right paradigm.
